The Georgian Shores Atom LL team faced off against the Creemore Valley
Hawks on Saturday November 8, 2014 in Meaford which was their first of two
games for the weekend.
Both teams played fast and hard through the first period with neither side able to put one past the goalies making it 0-0 after the first. Going into the second neither side gave up and playing determined to win had another scoreless period, making the game 0-0 still going into the third. The third period was fought hard by both sides. With 10:35 left in the period the Lightning were finally able to put one in the net , scored by Gavin Taylor and assisted by Logan Scott. Creemore was quick to answer back tying the game up with 7:02 remaining. Gavin Taylor was able to put another by the Creemore net minder with 4:33 left in the period assisted by Jordan Mead making the game 2-1. Creemore very quickly answered back putting one in just 12 seconds later tying the game up at 2 a piece. The final score would remain 2-2, but a great game was played by all battling hard the entire time.
On Sunday the team then headed to Shelburne to face off against the Shelburne Wolves #2. The scoring was opened up at 1:55 into the first with Logan Scott putting it past the goalie assisted by Gavin Taylor. The Lightning continued to play hard and ended the first with the score still being 1-0. The Lightning scored another goal at 7:38 in the second by Khyron Ayton-Lee unassisted to make the game 2-0. With just 10 seconds left in the second Shelburne was able to put one past Jerry Marshall to make the game 2-1 going into the third period. Opening up the scoring in the third was the Lightning's Riley McFadden assisted by Gavin Taylor at 14:11 making the game a 3-1 match. Shelburne however continued to battle hard and were able to put two more in the net making the final score 3-3 for the game.
