The Georgian Shores Atom LL team started their hockey season Saturday October 18 in Meaford facing off against the Collingwood Blackhawks #1 team.

With the game underway and 1:11 into the first Collingwood was able to put one in past Jerry Marshall to make the game 1-0.  Coming out of the first period with the score still being 1-0 Collingwood was able to net two more making the game a 3-0 game with 2:43 left in the period.  Georgian Shores continued to battle and skate hard and with 56 seconds left in the second period Logan Scott was able to score one for the team unassisted and then continued on to score one more with just 6 seconds left in the period.  Going into the third the score was now 3-2 and Georgian Shores were playing well.  Collingwood came out strong and were able to put two more pucks in the net making it a 5-2 game, but with 1:28 left in the game Logan Scott was able to get his first hat trick of the year.  Despite a great effort from the team the final score was 5-3 for the Collingwood Blackhawks.

Heading into Sunday they faced off against the Shelburne Wolves.  Large in size this team put up quite a fight scoring 5 goals in the first period with the Georgian Shores team skating hard against all odds.  The second period was all Shelburne again with them scoring another 2 goals making the game 7-0 at the periods end.  Georgian Shores though would not give up despite the score and continued to play and skate hard.  They opened the scoring of the third period just 1:49 on the clock when Brendan Carroll put one past the goalie assisted by Luke Morrow.  And just 2:50 later another one was scored for Georgian Shores with Gavin Taylor beating the net minder unassisted making the game 7-2.  Shelburne was able to answer back though scoring another four goals making the game almost unreachable, but Georgian Shores did not give up.  With just 54 seconds left in the game Logan Scott was able to get one more goal for the team assisted by Khyron Ayton-Lee.  Even though the score was 11-3 it was a great game played by all.

The Atom LL team will be back at it again this coming weekend playing at 1:30 p.m in Feversham on Saturday October 25, and then again at 4:30 p.m in Collingwood on Sunday October 26, 2014.
