An application is considered to be received upon receipt of completed application AND TOURNAMENT FEES

We accept teams on a first come, first served basis. In the case of multiple applications which exceed the number of available spaces remaining, post marks are used to determine which teams will fill the remaining spots.

All tournament registrations will close 4 weeks prior to the event.

 

Novice Divison


This is an OMHA sanctioned tournament and will be operated according to OMHA tournament regulations. 

 All OMHA rules are in effect with the addition of the following:

1.    All teams must register at least one hour before their first scheduled game.  At this time, each team must produce original Approved Roster Sheet and Approved Affiliated Players List/Team officials.  At this time your team will receive their welcome package.

2.    The Home Team for each game will be required to change uniforms should conflicts arise. Please bring both sets of your jerseys. The Tournament Organizers will resolve conflicts.

3.    Any damage to dressing rooms or the facility will be the responsibility of team officials.

4.    All games will be 10 – 10 – 10 Stop Time.

5.    Teams should be prepared to go on the ice up to 15 minutes ahead of their scheduled game time. Games may commence 15 minutes earlier than their scheduled time if the ice surface is ready.

6.    No players will enter onto the ice surface before Ice cleaner has left the ice.

7.    Players will shake hands at the beginning of every game.

8.    Straight Time – When any team is ahead by five (5) or more goals in the third period. The game will proceed to ‘straight time’ unless the gap is reduced to three (3) goals, at which point the clock will revert back to stop time. The only time the clock would be stopped is if an on-ice injury should occur. All penalties are running time.

9.    Any player receiving a gross misconduct or a match penalty will be banned from further tournament play.  Any player given a fighting major will also be banned from further tournament play.

10. Team officials are responsible for picking up game sheets at the registration table after each game.

11. The Tournament will consist of a two pool, round-robin preliminary play followed by finals games.

a.    There will be a point system for preliminary round-robin play

b.    Points will be awarded thusly: 2 points for a win. 1 point for a tie. 0 points for a loss.

c.    There will be no overtime in round-robin games

12. Standings after the round-robin will be decided by the following hierarchy:

                   i.        Most points accumulated

                  ii.        Head to head competition

                 iii.        Goals For Percentage; The percentage of all goals that are scored by a team (Goals For / (Goals For + Goals Against))

                 iv.        Least penalty minutes

13. Finals games will be decided by regulation play, followed by overtime, then shoot-out (if necessary).  

14. Home ice for the finals games will be determined by the same hierarchy as stated in #12 (with the elimination of 12ii head to head).

15. Overtime in the Finals Games Only

In the event of a tie during the final games: there will be one 5 on 5, five-minute, stop time, sudden victory, overtime period. Teams will not change ends in overtime period. Goalies may be removed for an extra skater at the coach’s discretion during overtime. Normal penalties will apply in overtime and time remaining on a penalty at the end of regulation time will be carried over in overtime. All OMHA rules apply.

If the teams remain tied, the game will be decided by a shootout.

The shootout will consist of 3 players as chosen from each team.  The team with the most goals wins the game.  If teams are tied after 3 shooters, the shootout will continue using 1 shooter from each team until one team scores and the other team misses.  No player can shoot twice for their team unless numbers prevent otherwise. Visiting team shoots first If a player is serving a penalty at the end of the game, that player is not eligible to participate in the shootout.

16. Time-Outs- There will be one 30 second time-out allowed for each team at any time during a game.

17. ZERO TOLERANCE - abusive behavior on or off the ice (physical or verbal) conducted by any player, team official, game official or fan, directed at any other player, team official, game official or fan, or tournament organizer will not be accepted.  Such activities will result in expulsion from the tournament and arena.

18. Awards will be presented on the ice for the Finals games.

19. All Decisions of the Tournament Organizers are FINAL.

 

 

Minor Novice Division

This is an OMHA sanctioned jamboree and will be operated according to OMHA jamboree guide and OMHA rules and regulations. 

 All OMHA rules are in effect with the addition of the following:

1.          A team official must sign in at least one hour prior to their first game of the day. Any rosters or permits that have not been previously submitted, must be submitted in order to participate in the jamboree.

2.          Game participant lists must be completed by all teams and handed into the tournament organizers at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled game time.

3.          Game Length will be 40 minutes (divided into two 20 minute periods). A buzzer will be sounded every two minutes for shift changes. Puck remains live during the entirety of a period. Stoppages in play/face-offs may occur at the discretion of the official.

4.          Every game will begin with a 2 minute warm-up period. After which, players will line up and shake hands prior to the game commencing.

5.          Bumpers will be used to separate the ice.

6.          Smaller nets will be in use.

7.          Number of players: 4v4 (plus goalie).

8.          Any damage to dressing rooms or the facility will be the responsibility of team officials.

9.          No players will enter onto the ice surface before Ice cleaner has left the ice.

10.       ZERO TOLERANCE - abusive behavior on or off the ice (physical or verbal) conducted by any player, team official, game official or fan, directed at any other player, team official, game official or fan, or tournament organizer will not be accepted.  Such activities will result in expulsion from the tournament and arena.

11.        Please vacate the changerooms as soon as possible. There will be a team that needs to use the change room in the hour following your game.

12.        All Decisions of the Tournament Organizers are FINAL.
