Successful Mike Hammond Memorial Tournament Wraps Up!

The spirit of the game was alive and well this past weekend as we concluded another successful Mike Hammond Memorial Tournament. Mike Hammond was a true hockey fan who dedicated countless hours to the sport in many different ways throughout the years. This annual tournament allows Georgian Shores Minor Hockey to continue honouring Mike’s legacy while giving our U11 to U18 Local League players a hard-fought shot at the legendary title belt.

U18: North Middlesex Jr. Stars

A Team Effort Behind the Scenes

A tournament of this scale doesn't happen without an incredible support system. Special thanks go to our Tournament Director, Patrick Strutt, for his tireless work coordinating the logistics behind the scenes, and to both Patrick and Jason Bouwman for their dedication at the rink all weekend long.

THE FIRST GOAL IS HAVING FUN. The Timbits Minor Sports Program is a community-oriented sponsorship program that provides opportunities for kids aged four to nine to play house league sports. The philosophy of the program is not based on winning or losing, but on learning a new sport, making new friends, and just being a kid. Tim Hortons currently supports more than 300,000 children on teams in hockey, soccer, ringette, lacrosse, softball and baseball leagues in Canada and the United States. The Apple Harvest Craft Show has become one of the largest in southern Ontario, attracting close to 200 artisans and crafters with a long waiting list wanting to participate. Proceeds from the annual Apple Harvest Craft Show are donated to a number of community projects.
