The
Georgian Shores Lightning played in Meaford this past Saturday against the
Dundalk Storm. Despite all the Halloween
excitement the night before the players showed up eager and ready to play
hockey.
A hard fought first period was played with neither side being able to put the puck past the goal tenders. With the Lightning skating hard and working in the corners they were able to put one in with just 1:57 into the second period, scored by Jordan Mead and assisted by Gavin Taylor and Mackenzie Falls. The Storm answered back putting two past Jerry Marshall making the game 2-1 in their favor. All players fighting hard for this one it was the Lightning that would score the final goal in the second by Logan Scott unassisted making the game tied going into the third. Heading into the third the Lightning were able to get another one with just 15 seconds in, scored by Gavin Taylor. Battling hard though the Storm were again able to answer back making the final score 3-3. A great game played by both sides. The Georgian Shores Atom LL team will be playing again this weekend with the first game on Saturday November 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m in Meaford. They will then be travelling to Shelburne to play a game at 4:20 p.m. Come out and show your support!!
