Tough loss in Mount Forest
(posted) Written by John Gyles. The Georgian Shores Lightning Scenic Caves girl’s bantam hockey team travelled to Mt Forest on Friday, December 5.  The Lightning started out controlling the play in the Rams end.  As the 1st period progressed, it became a back and forth game with good defense by both teams.

The Rams managed to get a number of shots away on the Lightning, but only to be denied by goal tender Meagan Swanson.  The period ended scoreless.  The second period continued to be a defensive game by both sides until 6 minutes left and the Rams took a 1-0 lead.  This energized the Rams to outskate the Lightning scoring a shorthanded goal with less than 2 minutes left in the 2nd period.  In the third period, the Rams continued to outskate the Lightning scoring 2 more goals in the first half of the period.  The Lightning managed to hold the Rams from scoring further during the balance of the game.  The final score was 4-0 for the Mt Forest Rams.  The Lightning hope to return to winning form when they host West Grey in Meaford on Friday, December 12.
